Call for Papers

The 7th International Conference on Higher Education Learning Methodologies and Technologies (HELMeTO 2025) will be held in Naples (Italy) on September 23-25, 2025. The conference is focused on all the relevant topics for online higher education: learning methodologies, learning technologies, software, learning outcomes evaluation, educational data analysis, learning analytics and educational big data mining. The main aim is to bring together practitioners and researchers studying these topics and, in general, to personals involved at management and/or teaching level in institutions interested in distance learning.

Participants will have the opportunity to exchange good practices and points of view about the future of methodologies and technologies regarding the online teaching-learning process. Moreover, a special focus will be done to the importance of mining useful knowledge from of the data generated on virtual learning environments and to the methods for improving the performances of the universities themselves.

The conference will include parallel sessions organized in two main tracks:

  • Online pedagogy and learning methodologies;
  • Learning technologies, data analytics and educational big data mining as well as their applications.

Moreover, Special Tracks will be organized by valuable researchers under the umbrella of HELMeTO 2025. All abstracts submitted for a special track will undergo a review process as described in the Author Guidelines Section and must meet the same deadlines as described

Special track proposal

Proposals for Special Tracks are welcome. Proposals must be emailed to conference@helmeto.it, specifying as email subject “Special Session Proposal”. Call is now open, see instructions on the Web site: https://www.helmeto.it/2025-edition/special-tracks/  

Each proposal must specify the following fields, the proposal should not exceed the 3 pages:

  • Title
  • Aim and Scopes
  • Potential Scopes of Interest
  • Special Track Leader Organizer, with his/her affiliation, contacts and a very short bio
  • The list of other co-organizers, with their contacts and affiliations
  • A list of potential contributors.

Abstract contribution 

Abstract contributions MUST be in English and should be submitted in the form of an abstract with references (max two pages + one page of references).

All submissions must be made electronically through the online submission system EasyChair: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=helmeto2025. During the submission process, the preferred track (general or special) must be selected. 

The authors of accepted abstracts will be asked to present their work at the Conference. The accepted abstracts will be available in a digital book of abstracts of the Conference. Each accepted abstract must have at least one registered author by September 01, 2025 (early registration deadline August 10, 2025).

SUBMISSIONS: Full Papers

The authors of the accepted contributions will be invited to submit an extended version of their work in the form of a final full paper (12 pages + references). Full papers will undergo a second round of reviews. Accepted full papers, whose authors will have attended the conference (at least one author), will be included, free of charge, in the conference post-proceedings. We are submitting a request to Springer Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS) series, indexed in Scopus and other important indexing databases.
